WAITING FOR WALKER REVIEW!

HELLO FRIENDS, I AM HERE WITH ONE HECK OF AN AMAZING BOOK AND I AM SO EXCITED TO BE REVIEWING IT! BELOW IS MY REVIEW OF WAITING FOR WALKER BY ROBIN REARDON, AND IF YOU HAVEN'T READ ROBIN'S WORK YET YOU REALLY SHOULD, SHE IS AMAZING TO SAY THE LEAST! BELOW IS MY REVIEW ALONG WITH THE BUY LINK, LET'S HAVE A LOOK:

I DECIDED TO USE THIS QUOTE BECAUSE I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY LESSONS LEARNED IN THIS STORY, BELOW IS MY REVIEW :)

Waiting For Walker
by: Robin Reardon
reviewed by: Becky

Micah Jaeger's life is a mess. His folks have split, and his mother is seeing a medium to communicate with Micah's older brother, killed in Afghanistan. He had to change schools for his junior year, which made him retreat further into himself, hiding behind his camera—and hiding that he's gay.

One sunny day in June, as he's shooting a dead seagull on the shore of Long Island Sound, a mysterious guy appears in a beautiful sailboat. At first, the guy's boat shoes are the image that stays with Micah. But soon it's the person himself, Walker Donnell, who haunts Micah's dreams.

Walker's life looks perfect to Micah. His wealthy parents adore him. He has everything he could want. He's gorgeous and generous. And he falls hard for Micah. But he has a secret: Walker is intersex.

The closer Walker and Micah grow, the more Walker feels the need to be sure of himself in ways he hasn't fully faced before, and now it's his turn to retreat. Micah knows Walker is worth waiting for, so he waits. And waits.

Every so often I find a book that I can honestly say I don't want to end, Waiting For Walker was one of those books for sure! Robin Reardon crafts a story that you want to experience for the first time over and over again!

Micah has had a ton to deal with in his young life, and he honestly just wants stability and life to return to some semblance of normal, but with his brother gone and parents split that may not happen for a very long time.

Micah meets Walker and life starts looking up, until things happen and Micah ends up waiting for Walker. How long will he have to wait? When things happen to shake up Micah's own life will waiting for Walker be as important as it was?

This is a story of a life in chaos, then there is someone there to balance it again. You will adore this book as much as I did, and you will realize just what makes Walker so worth the wait! Thank you Robin, for a story that is both heartfelt and heart wrenching at times!

the 5 Cape Dory Typhoon rating :)

YEP, I TOTALLY HAD A GREAT REASON FOR THIS RATING, GRAB THE BOOK BELOW AND SEE WHAT IT WAS!

CHANGE OF HEART REVIEW!

HELLO FRIENDS, BELOW IS MY REVIEW OF CHANGE OF HEART: BE THE CHANGE SERIES: BY A.M. SNEAD, ALONG WITH A LINK AND EXCERPT! THIS WAS AN AMAZING SHORT STORY AND I RECOMMEND IT TO ALL! LET'S TAKE A LOOK:

THIS IS A WONDERFUL LESSON, ALONG WITH MANY MORE, TAUGHT IN THIS STORY: HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Change Of Heart:
Be The Change Series
by: A.M. Snead
reviewed by: Becky

M/M Faith-based romance. Mild sexual content. For readers ages 16 and up.

“His fears took him away. His heart brought him back.”

What if homosexuality wasn’t a sin? What if the “clobber” passages in the Bible had been grossly misinterpreted? What if it really was “okay to be gay”? What if God “didn’t” hate homosexuals?

These are questions youth pastor Dean Mitchell has addressed, and come to learn the damage he has caused the young people of his former church while heading up the Purity program—a conversion therapy course for Christian youth experiencing same-sex attraction.

When Dean returns to his home church after being away for two years, no one is prepared for what he has to say. His heart is torn when he comes face to face with Nicholas Blake, the young man he had fallen in love with while attempting to help him overcome his homosexuality. Nicholas Blake—who is now engaged to a woman and, to all intents and appearances, “healed” of his homosexuality.

Now, Dean must deal with his own wounded heart as he struggles to come to terms with his feelings about the young man and his newfound happiness with a woman, and his possible expulsion from the church he loves so dearly.

I think a question that this book raises is, "Can you have it all, your faith and the love of your life"? The way that question is answered in this story by one of my fave authors is stunning! The trip to the right place in your life may not always be pleasant, but it is always worth it.

Dean made a grave error when he headed up the 'Purity Program', which was a conversion therapy program at the Church where he used to be the Youth Pastor. When he heads back into town to hopefully right the wrong he committed, he is horrified to find Nicholas, whom he helped 'convert' engaged to a woman.

Dean must convince Nicholas that he isn't broken and wrong for being attracted to men, and Dean finds that he has a vested interest in the way Nicholas feels. Can Dean fix what he messed up? Will he even have a chance at love?

This book is amazing, and if you are not really a fan of Faith based romance, believe me, this one is a breath of fresh air, and like nothing you have read before, give it a chance!

the 5 Pan Fried Steak rating :P

HERE IS AN EXCERPT FOR YA!

“There’s some people here to see you,” Timothy said quietly and looked at Dean. “They’re in the parking lot.”
“People?” Dean frowned, uncertain. “What people?”
“Some people from the church,” was all Timothy offered. “This way.” He and Elliot moved away from Dean’s door and walked around to the motel parking lot.
Dean hesitated. People from the church. He stepped out and closed the door. Give me strength, Lord. Dean followed the boys around the corner. What he found, halted him in his tracks. He dragged his hand over his mouth, eyes wide. A small horde of young people ranging from all ages between teen to early twenties—and few older than that—were milling around the front of the motel. He recognized many of them as program participants from when he’d been here before, and some of whom had dropped out while Dean had still been overseeing the program.
A collective silence settled over them when they saw Dean standing there. Two young girls came forward hesitantly. He thought he recognized one of them as Nicole Warner—daughter of Edward Warner, one of the church deacons. She had been fourteen and new to the program when Dean had left. Her father was a stern man and Dean had tried many times to reason with him and help him understand that his daughter needed his love and support, not his scrutiny and judgment…to much avail; Edward Warner had continued to put pressure on Nicole to try harder and get better. He’d wanted a “quick-fix” and had often come down on Dean for not pushing her as well. But even at that time, Dean hadn’t believed in putting unbearable pressure on the kids. Nicole had had a hard enough time at home—he wasn’t about to add to her stress and anguish.
“Pastor Mitchell…” Nicole paused a few feet back. Dean didn’t know the girl that was with her but immediately noticed their clasped hands. They weren’t just “holding” hands—they were clinging together.
“Nicole.” Dean smiled warmly. “It’s so nice to see you again. How have you been? How are…things at home?”
She glanced at her friend. “I…I don’t live at home anymore,” she whispered.
“What?” Dean frowned. “Why don’t you?”
“Last year,” she said, “I…I quit the program.”
“Why?”
Nicole pressed closer to the other girl. “Because I…I fell in love.” Her eyes dampened. “My father…he told me if I quit, if I chose to live an…abominable lifestyle…then I couldn’t live under his roof anymore.”
Dean closed his eyes, his heartbreaking. “I’m so sorry, Nicole,” he whispered and looked at her.
“I-I heard what you said at church yesterday.” She bit her lip and her chin quivered. “Is it…is it really okay for us to…to feel this way? Will God still love us if…if we love each other?”
The rest of the small group was staring at him…so fearful yet clinging to hope.
Oh God, what did I do to them? His eyes filled. “Yes,” he whispered, shaking inside as he looked from one fearful face to another. Father, forgive me…forgive me for the unbearable pain I’ve caused them. Tears began to escape and slide down his face. “Yes, God still loves you. There is nothing unnatural or abominable about loving another person. God is love. What you feel inside…it comes from him.” He swallowed past the rising lump. “I’m so sorry…I’m so sorry I ever made any of you feel unwanted or unloved by God.”
You didn’t.” A young man in his early twenties stepped forward, tears in his eyes. Bradley Hoffman. He’d been in the program for most of the years Dean had been there. With him was another boy from the program—Jeremy O’Leary. They had come to the program as former boyfriends, seeking help together. They had struggled so hard to deny their feelings for one another, convince themselves they could just be good friends and ultimately date girls. Dean had encouraged them, counseled them, but the anguish of heart in the two young men had remained up to the day Dean had left town. Looking at them now, he understood that their love had never died, had not even faded one tiny bit.
Years wasted in a futile struggle against a love they should have been encouraged to embrace.
“You never made us feel that way, Pastor Mitchell,” Bradley spoke with strong emotion. He looked at Jeremy. “Even at our weakest moments…you didn’t make us feel like we were failing God or that he would forsake us because we were having a hard time with it all. You cared about us more than anyone and…and it showed.” Tears formed. “Don’t feel bad for being part of that program, Pastor Mitchell. You were the best thing about it. And now, you’re the only one who cares about what we went through…the only who feels remorse.” He swallowed thickly, his breath uneven. “You were our saving grace then when we needed gentle guidance…and you’re our saving grace now when we needed someone to tell us that…we’re okay.” His throat worked and tears slipped free. “We love you, Pastor Mitchell…you saved us.”

Leaving twelve years earlier, Denver knew he would never be accepted as a gay man in an unaccepting town. So, when he meets Kes—an old school friend—in the bar he owns, he is shocked to find him in an openly gay relationship. Something he never thought would happen here.
What surprises him even more is the instant, mutual attraction the three men have. Accepting a job in Kes’ bar, they dance around each other, wanting them but not believing he would ever fit in with a couple so obviously in love. But, they want him. And they are not prepared to let him go.
Denver takes a risk and accepts their offer of a night out, finding a side of himself he never knew existed. Not trusting himself to be enough for the two men, the desire blooming in him is unprecedented and he can’t deny it: he wants them as much.
He finds his life falling into place, all because of two men. Is it possible he found his forever in a place he never expected it?
HOT RIGHT? CHECK OUT THE EXCERPT:

I’m such a damn coward. I berate myself as I watch the only two men who have my interest tonight. Just grow a pair, Sinclair, and go dance with them. I watch as they move together—they could be the only two men in the room for all I know—they have my total attention as the room fades, leaving only them in my sight.
The song changes and a harder, dirtier beat comes through the speakers. I don’t recognize it, but it’s good. I watch as Kes turns East around so his back is pressed against Kes’ front. East’s hips sway, rubbing his ass over the front of Kes’ jeans. It’s so fucking sexy.
Whether it’s the couple of beers I’ve had, the noise of the music, or the heat coming from the bodies around me, that has me intoxicated but urge permeates me, directing my thoughts to the two young men I walked in with not ninety minutes ago. My feet move of their own volition and I weave between the writhing, sweaty bodies. Kes has his mouth on East’s neck, sucking on the soft skin, the bright, multi-colored lights bouncing off their skin highlights the sensuality of the kiss on his damp flesh.
A moan creeps out of me as I reach them and, again, with no forethought, my hands are on East’s hips as I press my lips up to his. East parts his lips fractionally and the hot tip of his tongue slides over the seam of my lips. Opening to him, my tongue slips tentatively over his. Fuck! The taste of him sends me reeling, my head spinning as I lose myself in him; I can’t get enough.
The kiss intensifies as I press my body harder against his. We sway to the beat, Kes’ hands on my hips as East grips my head, holding me in place. Our tongues dance lazily as we learn each other’s mouths. My eyes open when the hard length of East’s dick presses into me. He nudges me with his hips, eliciting another soft moan from me.
“My turn, I think.” Kes’ gruff voice reaches me and I feel East pull away and twist me around.
Suddenly, I’m the one in the middle; East’s front against my back as I look at Kes. His dark eyes are heavy, his desire apparent as he draws me closer.
“Oh, baby, I’ve been waiting to do this again for so long.” Letting the tip of his tongue slide over his bottom lip, leaving a sheen in the roving lights, Kes whispers as his mouth skims over my already kiss-swollen lips. His tongue glides over my bottom lip before he pulls it between his teeth and tugs gently. Then it’s on! His tongue invades my mouth, dueling with my own, his dominance obvious but so sexy. He sucks on my tongue and I groan hard, my hands wrapping around his shoulders and into his hair.
East’s hands clench around my waist, his fingertips, easing under my t-shirt and caressing my highly sensitive skin, leave what feels like scorch marks in their wake. I need more. I don’t know what it is I need, but this isn’t enough. East pushes his groin into my ass cheeks and I gasp at the feeling, the hotness of his hands, along with his erection, sends all sorts of signals to my befuddled, kiss-drunk brain.
Kes slows his kiss down and ends with delicious nips and nibbles over my lip. “I think we need to get out of here, we’ve become a show.”
I open my eyes and notice the men around us staring, not with disapproval but with desire and envy. I feel East’s warm chuckle against my neck as he plants his mouth on my skin.

How do you find love when someone doesn’t want you to be happy?

Patrick Edwards is dealing with a double whammy. Unwanted attention from his housemate’s boyfriend is making him feel uncomfortable in his own home, and he’s facing uncertainty with his employment as an administrative assistant at the local elementary school. He finally breathes a sigh of relief when a friend puts him in contact with Simon, who has a vacant room.

Simon Dawson is a paramedic who doesn’t hesitate to help Patrick. After all, no one should live in a house where they don’t feel safe. Simon develops feelings for Patrick, but doesn’t act on them—Patrick’s moved from a bad situation and doesn’t need his new housemate hitting on him. However, a weekend away changes everything when Simon realizes Patrick returns his feelings.

But someone doesn’t want Patrick and Simon to be happy. A series of strange letters arrive at the house, and things will get a lot worse before the two men get their happily ever after.

Patrick's Savior is a novel of approximately 69k words. It is part of a series but can be read stand-alone.

Review:
In the third installment of the Heroes series, Nic Starr has given us to men who are both dealing with demons. Patrick and Simon must work to overcome their issues, if they hope to make it together.
Simon basically catches Patrick at one of his low points and is able to provide a place to stay while he continues to work and tries to get over the sense of betrayal of his friend.  Patrick accepts his invitation to be another flat mate, even though he knows he will be hard pressed to maintain friendship only.  As they spend more time together, they both discover they want more from the relationship than just friends.
Simon has his own issues to deal with, on top of helping Patrick get some of his self-assurance back. While he is working, teaching self-defense classes and watching out for Patrick, he is also dealing with an extreme emotional trauma and the results within is family that has left him to feel isolated from his mom and sister and like he may not be able to continue his work as a paramedic.
Patrick comes so far with Simon’s help, but he still is forced to react and hold his own until someone can get there to help. When his stalker reveals himself, Simon must reach deep to get over the shock of his friend’s betrayal and prove to everyone, especially himself, that he can protect himself, even if it is only long enough for Simon to make it.
Simon and Patrick make a great couple and their relationship flows extremely well.  The issues they face are all too real and I enjoyed watching them work together and prop each other up when needed.  The romance is a bit predictable but seeing them fall into love and strengthening their bond while working through their problems really worked for me.  Nic Starr has added another wonderful read to her Heros series.  Even with few instances of high heat on the page, the smoldering passion between them bolsters their relationship and makes the read that much more enjoyable.

Only the 5 Holding Hands Rating will do for Patrick and Simon.

GRACE IS TOTALLY RIGHT, ONLY THE HOLDING HANDS RATING WILL DO FOR THESE TWO! GRAB THIS BOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY, IT IS AMAZING!

P.S. by Caraway Carter: Out Oct. 26th

Looking back, it was kind of crazy to put a down payment on a fallen down train depot I'd never actually seen, in a state I'd never actually been to, and use it to build a life with a guy I'd never actually met, but love makes people do crazy things. If you've ever been in love, you know what I mean.

But before the plane had landed, I found out that Sam - the guy I'd met online and had been talking to for four years - wasn't really Sam. He wasn't even a guy.

I already own the little train depot, and I can't go back to my old life. And Fairville is such a lovely welcoming town. Did I mention James? He's made sure that I've had a really warm welcome.

All I want is to build a great little bookstore, and have a relationship based on humor, honesty, and hardbacks. I see some tough choices ahead of me.

Or maybe I don't have to choose...

DOESN'T THIS ONE SOUND AMAZING!
